Hello,

Planning to file a request for the reacquisition of Filipino Citizenship. Is there a need to secure an appointment? If so, please advise how. If walk-in is allowed, is there a cut off per day? Do we need to submit the prepared documents ahead of time, or we can just bring everything in person during the desired day?

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 27, 2023 01:28:50 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Reacquisition of Filipino Citizenship.

Please be advised that the Bureau no longer implements an appointment basis for dual citizenship inquiries and applications. It is advisable to bring all the requirements and have them for onsite evaluation in order to determine any other documents needed for the application process. Should you have any questions or concerns, you may call the Dual Citizenship Office (RA 9225 Office) through (02) 8465-2400 Local 458 or 459.


Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to bsi.recognition@immigration.gov.ph . Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
