greetings
I am currently in the Philippines with an entry permit as a tourist, I applied for a political acyl status and I am waiting for the answer, my stay permit expires on May 9, with the application letter can I stay longer? How do I notify this to stay longer while I present the interview and they give me an answer?

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Apr 21, 2023 09:39:22 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

you informed the BI that you applied for political asylum and requested information whether or not you have to extend your stay in the country pending approval of your application. 

BI appreciates information given. However, please be informed the Department of Justice- Refugees and Stateless Persons Protection Unit (RSPPU) facilitates, determines CA 613 Sec 47(b) application.  

You may coordinate with DOJ-RSPPU with address at Padre Faura St., Ermita, Manila and/ or dojac@doj.gov.ph with telephone nos. 85218343 loc. 347 (RPU) for information.

In regard extension of stay, we advice you to visit the Temporary Visitors Section Windows 29 to 35 located at the ground floor of the BI- Main Office, Intramuros, Manila for proper advice.  Please  bring copy of your Asylum Application, actual Passport and other relevant documents for proper assessment.
