Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Apr 21, 2023 01:11:43 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for a Step by step process of PETITION FOR RE-ACQUISITION OF PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP UNDER R.A. 9225.

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.

To properly address your itemized concerns:

1.) The processing of applications for RA 9225 or the Citizen retention and re-acquisition Law of 2003 is mostly held at our Main Office located in Magallanes Drive, Intramuros Manila. 

2.) For the process proper itself, applicants are required to undergo on-site evaluation of documents. The requirements you can bring prior to evaluation are the following: 
a.) Two pieces of 2x2 photograph with white background, without any facial obstruction (glasses, face mask etc.)
b.) Original PSA-issued Birth Certificate
c.) Photocopy of Certificate of Naturalization
d.) Original and Photocopy of Valid Foreign Passport.
Additional documents may be required upon on-site evaluation, the additional documents can be done within the proximity of the main office (such as affidavits justifying discrepancies/clerical errors occurring in the documents presented and/or affidavits justifying a change in name due to marriage or any legal process resulting to a change of name)
On-site steps are mostly composed of evaluation, verification, and payment.

3.) The regular process of the RA 9225 normally takes 3-4 months upon compliance/completion of documents.
