Hello sirs / miss,

I would like to request for the list of criteria, processes and documents required for a Taiwanese foreign national to apply for a dual citizenship in the Philippines. My parents are both foreign nationals, but we all have native-born status and i-card issued from the Bureau of Immigrations. Let me know if we're eligible, and if so, what I'll need to do to proceed. Thank you!

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jan 17, 2022 06:38:42 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Required documents and Process for Dual Citizenship.

Please be informed that RA 9225 (Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2004)  applies to natural born Filipinos who were naturalized in other countries could re- acquire or retain their Philippine citizenship after undergoing the procedure provided for under the law.

Documentary requirements for RA 9225 application may be viewed via www.immigration.gov.ph. 

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Bureau of Immigration via www.immigration.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
