To whom it may concern. I, Sinji Miyata a natural born in the Philippines currently resided in Japan would like to request for Oath of Allegiance for my upcoming Philippine passport renewal. I had my passport issued here in the Philippines last June 02,2008 and never had the chance to renew since then. I am dual passport holder. Now, DFA ask for it as one of the major requirement. Hoping for your warm and immediate response.

I refer to my letter of Jul 22, 2023 09:26:53 PM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for for renewal passport requirement.

In order for us to work further on your request, we need more information from you regarding your query. 

Have you undergone the process of acquiring Dual Citizenship through RA 9225? A copy of the Oath of Allegiance is issued to individuals who are qualified and availed this process.

In particular, it would be helpful to know your citizenship and the mode of acquisition of your citizenship in order for us to further assist you with your concern. You may use the reply function on the eFOI portal at https://efoi-ph.uc.r.appspot.com/requests/aglzfmVmb2ktcGhyHAsSB0NvbnRlbnQiD0JJLTc4MDI1NTM3MzM3MQw, for request with ticket number #BI-780255373371, to respond.

Dear Mika,

I refer to my letter of Aug 07, 2023 about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for for renewal passport requirement. In particular, I had requested specific information for you to clarify upon in order for us to proceed with the request.

As we have not received a reply within the 60-day working period since the letter requesting for clarification was sent out, we regret to inform you that this request will be closed as of Oct 30, 2023.

You may wish to submit a new request describing the specific information you are looking for, and we will be able to consider it under the guidelines as stated in Executive Order No. 2.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to or visiting our central office. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.
