Your Request

You asked for total number of insured people in the Philippines.

Response to Request

In relation to your request, please be inform that the requested information may be accessed through the Key Data posted in Insurance Commission's website - https://www.insurance.gov.ph/summary-from-2017-2021-preliminary-figures/. 

Per advised of our Statistics and Research Division, the insurance coverage in the PH is found on page 1 under Insurance Development.  Also,  please see note 7 regarding insured lives, as the insured lives data may be an overestimate due to possible inclusion of multiple policies of individuals from two or more companies.

For reference, the population is also found on the same page under Economic Indicators. Total Number of Insured = insurance coverage x population.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by email at icrecords-foi@insurance.gov.ph.
