Good day,

The inter-agency task force on COVID-19 decided not to allow non-essential travels abroad. Spokesman Harry Roque said the IATF reversed its decision because only one health and travel insurance firm agreed to provide insurance for non-essential outbound trips.

I want to ask for the clarifications :

1. Who is the insurance firm that can provide health and travel insurance as required by the IATF?

2. Who are the insurance firms to apply for the travel and health insurance products in compliance with the IATF guidelines?

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jul 24, 2020 12:39:09 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Travel and Health Insurance policies, specifically:
1. Who is the insurance firm that can provide health and travel insurance as required by the IATF?
2. Who are the insurance firms to apply for the travel and health insurance products in compliance with the IATF guidelines?

Please be informed that, concerning the first question, Liberty Insurance Corporation has a COVID-19 Insurance policy already approved by the Insurance Commission. Relative to second question, only Liberty Insurance Corporation applied for approval of a travel and health insurance policy in compliance with IATF Resolution No. 52 dated 06 July 2020.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Mr. Tranquilino E. Espejon with email address te.espejon@insurance.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
