August 24, 2023 Dear Nerolyn Nova, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Aug 22, 2023 02:14:40 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for Hazard Map (Geology, Erosion, Flood, Landslide) for Quezon Province. Response to your request Please be informed that this Office does not have data nor maintain maps or shapefiles in relation to erosion hazard. Further, requests for shapefiles of the geologic and geohazard maps of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) are not allowed at present as the outputs for both programs are currently being updated and are under the technical review process of the MGB. Hence, the shapefiles are currently not ready for distribution nor shareable to the public pending the conclusion of the technical review process and the proper publication of the MGB maps. However, you may obtain the soft or hard copy of the maps being requested, subject to the following information: 1. Geologic map requests does not fall under the scope of FOI but under the frontline services of the MGB. Requests pertaining to MGB Publications including Geological Quadrangle Maps at 1:50,000 scale and Geological Map of the Philippines are subject to a fee of PHP 500.00 per map, pursuant to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order No. 2005-08. Transactions related to the sale or reproduction of MGB Publications should be directed to the Lands Geological Survey Division of the MGB Central Office which you may contact through telephone number: (02) 8667-6700 local 180 or email at lgims@mgb.gov.ph. 2. MGB-published Geohazard Maps consisting of Rain-induced Landslide and Flood Hazard Maps are already available online and therefore cannot be counted as a valid FOI request. You may download MGB Geohazard Maps from the MGB website or through the link below: https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/c48f83f81f1548bdb0a76c61638d52d6/ The Geohazard Maps are currently downloadable in the portal as JPEG format which is a Raster Image File Format.
