Hello, to handle a stalker ex, I would like to get information on the following:

1. What are the steps and requirements of filing a Temporary Restraining Order

2. Is there a way a TRO can be permanent?

Dear Pierre V.,

Greetings!

Thank you for your message under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. 

To file for a Temporary Restraining Order, you may proceed to your barangay or to the regional trial court. Submit a written document narrating your circumstances. Please note that the TRO issued in barangay is temporary and effective for only 30 days.

If you have submitted your complaint and request for TRO in court , it will be endorsed to a judge. The judge will issue TRO on the basis of your complaint. 

If unhappy with the response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by sending an email to foi@nbi.gov.ph Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. 

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
