Ranking/list of Philippine Indigenous communities/groups with most cases of malnutritio

Requested from NNC by C. Ramos at 08:48 PM on Jan 06, 2024.
Purpose: News story
Date of Coverage: 01/01/2023 - 01/01/2024

Ramos 08:48 PM, Jan 06, 2024

Hi! I would like to have the list or rankings of the indigenous groups in the country that are most affected by malnutrition.

To be specific, since the NNC ranked Mindoro municipalities (with major populations of Mangyan IPs) highest in the 2022 nutrition status of municipalities with highest numbers of underweight and stunting, does this mean that Mangyan communities are the most affected of malnutrition?

Thanks!

Dear Chris Ramos,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jan 06, 2024 08:48:09 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Ranking/list of Philippine Indigenous communities/groups with most cases of malnutrition.

Response to Request

Only the nutritional status of 0-59 months old children by city and municipality from 2010 to 2022 is being consolidated by the NNC. You may retrieve the information from our official website https://www.nnc.gov.ph/related-statistics/operation-timbang-result.

The OPT Plus data indicates whether a child is from an Indigenous Peoples (IP) group but does not identify the specific IP group a child belongs to. You may request this information by sending an email request to info@nnc.gov.ph copy furnished nsd@nnc.gov.ph, stating your purpose and affiliation. Should you need more information on the Mangyan tribe in Mindoro, please contact the provinces of Oriental Mindoro and Occidental Mindoro.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Assistant Secretary and Executive Director IV Dr. Azucena M. Dayanghirang at oed@nnc.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,

FOI Receiving Officer
