Report on the Violation of Data Privacy of Online Lending App

Purpose: Stop the shaming and harassments of Online Lending App to my friend using his contacts.

Hi! I would like to report the following which I believe is in violation of data privacy act of our country done by Online Lending Apps CashGo, Cash Cash, Rich Cash, Hope Cash, Pedicash and CashBee.

1. My friend's contact list was accessed by the online lending app without his permission. They keep on texting various numbers in his contact list and even posting comments in his friend's post.

2. They've been calling various numbers in his contact list without his permission telling them ill about my friends reputation.

3. Recently they posted his ID in one of our friend's post.

You seek for help due to alleged harassment, and unauthorized access of Bigloan online lending app.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance your inquiry is not a valid FOI request. Complaints and request for clarification on data privacy or data protection should be responded through email reply. 

Nonetheless, to assist you with your concern, we have forwarded your inquiry, name, and email address to our Public Information and Assistance Division (info@privacy.gov.ph) for drafting of response.

You may expect our written response within 3-7 working days. However, if the concerned office determined that this may be a subject of an advisory opinion, the same will be release to you not later than 20 working days, unless the complexity and novelty of the subject matter requires a longer period of time for further evaluation. 

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response, by writing to Privacy Commissioner and Chairman John Henry Du Naga at info@privacy.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result, within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.
