CONTINUATION. Proposal to Strengthen Mobile Number Registration for Enhanced Security

Requested from NTC by C. Shet at 11:54 PM on Oct 30, 2023.
Purpose: Strengthen Mobile Number Registration for Enhanced Security
Date of Coverage: 09/18/2023 - 10/30/2023
Tracking no: #NTC-098714455020

Shet 11:54 PM, Oct 30, 2023

I have noticed that the recent introduction of the Mobile Number Registration Act, while well-intentioned, has not effectively deterred or stopped scammers. The ease with which individuals can acquire and discard multiple SIM cards has rendered this measure ineffective.

As a concerned citizen, and despite my background as an IT student, I believe it is essential to acknowledge my own vulnerability and that of others to these scams. Therefore, I am making a proposal to enhance the security of mobile number registration in the Philippines.
