Good day! I would like to request a list of existing facilities that are conducting activities related to disaster preparation and public safety.  

1] List of training facilities for public safety (such as firefighting/police/military/navy training facilities/centers)

2] List of facilities conducting disaster preparation and emergency response (such as offices/centers; if there are any)

The data that would be provided would be very helpful for my research of my undergraduate thesis regarding disaster preparedness and training facility. Thank you very much!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 26, 2019 11:28:44 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for List of existing training facilities for disaster preparedness and public safety.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. For item no. 1 : Since the guidelines on the accreditation of training institutes is still in progress, we don't have a list yet of training facilities for DRRM. It is recommended that the researcher to conduct individual listing of these institutions (as identified in the request). 

For item no. 2, based on RA 10121 and JMC 2014-001, Local Government Units (Province, City, Municipality) and Barangay are mandated and guided to establish their own Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices and Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committees. These offices/committees are mandated to conduct appropriate disaster preparedness and response activities in their areas of responsibilities.
