I would like to request electronic copies of the following documents which were filed in courts and should be open to the public, to allow me to check whether the Office of the Solicitor General's comments were accurately reported in the media:

1) The Office of the Solicitor General's manifestation (January 11, 2017) to the Court of Appeals in the serious illegal detention case against Janet Lim Napoles, in relation to Benhur Luy.

2) The Makati Regional Trial Court decision convicting Napoles.

3) The appellate and reply briefs in the Court of Appeals in relation to this decision.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, the Office of the Solicitor General cannot give a copy of the electronic copies in the case, since the requester is not party to the case.

Pleadings are filed in court and copy furnished the parties concerned. Accordingly, please direct your request to the concerned court which is the official repository of all pleadings filed by the parties in relation to said case.
Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Office of the Solicitor General, 134 Amorsolo St., Legazpi Village, Makati. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
