Thank you for your request dated Mar 03, 2022 10:56:45 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Requirements and Qualifications for Commissioned Lawyer in AFP.

Response to Request

The minimum requirements for eligibility under Circular r 02, dated 22
August 2014 on Procurement of Officers in the AFP provides that applicants for the Judge Advocate General Service must possess all the qualifications and none of the disqualifications for admission in the military service.

The basic qualifications include: 
1.	membership in the Integrated Bar of the Philippines; 
2.	must be 25-39 years of age;
3.	natural-born Filipino citizen; 
4.	of good moral character; 
5.	with height of not less than 5'0" (152.4cm) but not more than 6'4" for both male and female; (vi) must be physically, mentally and psychologically fit for active military service; and (vi) must pass the AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT).

The same Circular states that the applicant must not possess any of these disqualifications;
1.	those who are serving as officers, enlisted personnel, officials or employees in any other capacity in the government or armed forces of any foreign country; 
2.	those who were convicted for offenses involving moral turpitude in military of civil courts; 
3.	convicted in any administrative or criminal case; 
4.	those who were separated from the government or civilian service under the following conditions: a. dishonorably discharged; b. as a result of court-martial; c. as a result of administrative proceedings; d. for unsatisfactory services; and e. under any condition other than honorable.

Your right to request a review
