Anti-aircraft weapons of the Philippine military

Requested from AFP by E. Berdos at 02:23 PM on May 23, 2023.
Purpose: Fact check article
Date of Coverage: 04/22/2023 - 05/23/2023
Tracking no: #AFP-769323827906

Berdos 02:23 PM, May 23, 2023

Greetings! I am fact-checking a video claiming that the Philippines acquired Oerlikon 35mm anti-aircraft guns, and that these were fired in recent military exercises.

https://youtu.be/8YZ7uxuEy_Y?t=114

To debunk, may I ask:

1. May I request for a database listing the existing anti-aircraft guns or cannons of the Philippine military?

2. Does the AFP have Oerlikon 35mm anti-aircraft guns in its current arsenal? If none, does it plan to acquire said weapon?

3. Has the AFP ever fired Oerlikon 35mm anti-aircraft guns during the 2023 Balikatan exercises?
