Hi. How many vehicles on fire along EDSA and how long did it take to extinguish the fire. How it was extinguished and by what means? How long does it take for the fire team to reach the vehicle on fire?

Dear Alfredo,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 08, 2019 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for The number of vehicles caught on fire in EDSA.

Unfortunately, we do not have records of vehicular fires along EDSA. We can provide you, however, with the total number of vehicular fires per region. We are working on a system that will have more detailed data collection for future use. Please consult Metropolitan Manila Development Authority through their eFOI Portal at https://www.foi.gov.ph/requests?agency=MMDA since they are monitoring the thoroughfare more closely with their array of CCTV cameras and regular traffic enforcer patrol.

We apologize for the extreme delay in your request, as we have only activated our Freedom of Information Portal recently. Nevertheless, we are encouraging you to use our eFOI Portal again for your queries and we will answer at the soonest possible time.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to DIRECTOR LOUIE S PURACAN, Chief, BFP, at ofcbfp@gmail.com. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Dexter Ace Carolino
FOI Officer
