Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Aug 22, 2022 03:51:03 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for The updated age requirement for BFP (FOI).

The age requirement for BFP Applicants is 21-30. You can apply with the ages 31-35 with an Age Waiver, which can be processed with the following procedure:

The processing of application for height/or age waiver is an independent activity. Hence, the same must proceed prior to or without hiring and selection process.

All applicants shall be entertained by the recruiting unit provided that he/she met the Education and Eligibility requirements and have submitted the documentary requirements.

Education: graduated in a Bachelor Degree Course
Eligibility: Second Level Eligibility
a. RA 1080/ Board/ Bar
b. CSC Professional
c. Honor Graduated Eligibility
-The Certificate of Waiver will be issued by the Chief, BFP upon the recommendation of the Regional Personnel Selection Board (RPSB) through board resolution.
-The Certificate of Waiver shall be used or presented to any BFP recruiting unit nationwide. The applicant shall attach the said Certificate of Waiver to their application folder to justify their deficiencies. Absence of the same shall mean outright disqualification of the applicant.
Procedure
-Applicants shall submit the following requirements to their respective BFP Regional Offices:
a. Original Certificate any of the following:
i. Certificate of Membership from National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)
ii. Certificate of Membership from National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF)
iii. Professional Drivers Licence with restriction code 2&3 holder
iv. Fire Volunteer
v. PD 907 (Honor Graduates Eligibility)
vi. For previous Government employee, Service Record with skills (PDL 23)
b. Photocopy of two (2) valid IDs;
c. Three (3) pcs of 2x2 ID pictures; and
d. NSO Birth Certificate
-The Regional Emergency Medical Services (REMS) shall measure the actual height of the applicant and issue certificate on the matter.
-The Regional Administrative Officer shall issue certification on the actual age of the applicant based on the birth date appearing on the NSO Birth Certificate. (The birth date on the NSO shall be the same on the two (2) valid IDs presented.)
-The applicant shall claim the Certificate of Waiver signed by the Chief, BFP to the Regional Office he/she applied for.
