Dear Redentor Olarte,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 15, 2021 10:36:27 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for Number of death due to house fire in the Philippines.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested. However, the fire investigation reports are too voluminous to track all the ages of the fire victims, considering we are having an average of 14,000 recorded fire incidents per year. Rest assured however, that we are working on a system that will record more specific data for future research.

We apologize for the extreme delay in your request, as we have only activated our Freedom of Information Portal recently. Nevertheless, we are encouraging you to use our eFOI Portal again for your queries and we will answer at the soonest possible time.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to DIRECTOR LOUIE S PURACAN, Chief, BFP, at ofcbfp@gmail.com. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Annalee Atienza
