Good day,

Our company owns a 1 storey building with 21 bedrooms, are we required to install FDAS or we could install battery-operated smoke detectors?

Also, are we required to install sprinkler system?

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Feb 09, 2022 09:40:21 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for FDAS and Sprinkle system Requirement for Dormitory.

Fire Detection and Alarm Systems are required for residences with more than 12 compartments/rooms, even if it is only one storey.

Approved, supervised sprinkler systems are only required for buildings with 4 storeys or more in height, unless the building is also used for high hazard operations other than for residential purposes.
