I am conducting a research about the BIR's "Task Force Estate Patrol". The Task Force, in coodination with the Local Governmet Unit (LGU), receives information of deaths from the LGU. Upon receipt of such information, the Task Force sends a letter to the heirs of a deceased person to visit the BIR in order to verify the filing or non-filing of the estate tax of the deceased person. The research will guide taxpayers how to respond or how to go about such proceeding in the event he/she receives such a notice from BIR.
