Dear Ms. Caragdag,

I refer to my letter of Sept. 29, 2021, 06:25:26 PM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for Income Tax Return.

Kindly clarify from your new employer if what they are asking from you is the ITR last year as maybe what they were asking from you is the BIR Form 2316 for the current year for them to do the year-end adjustment. Your new employer will take into consideration your income from previous employment and your tax liability will be based on your total income for the year. However, if they were really requiring you to submit your ITR for 2020, kindly indicate your RDO no. for us to properly endorsed your request to the concerned RDO and email at ana.marie.du @bir.gov.ph as these are sensitive information

Furthermore, please be informed that your BIR Form 2316 should have been issued to you by your previous employer, If there is any, as it is mandated by law that every employer shall issue BIR Form No. 2316 to every employee before the close of such calendar year, or on the day on which the last payment of compensation is made.

During the period of us awaiting your reply, your request will be put on hold. If we do not receive a reply on or before Dec. 23, 2021, 04:38:12 AM, your request will be closed.

Good day,

I was not able to receive my 2020 ITR because I was a freelancer then and was only able to file my taxes through online via the eBIR system.

My RDO is at San Juan, RDO No. 42.

I would like to receive my 2020 ITR for filing purposes.
