Dear Ms. Garcia,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Mar 01, 2022 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Latest income tax return.

Response to your request
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested as your parents ITR for CY 2021 is yet to be filed on or before April 15 this year.

However, if they already filed, then they should have a copy of the same. In case they have not filed it yet and if they have been employed and your withholding tax has been correctly withheld by their employer, provided that they have only one employer and has been qualified for substituted filing for the taxable year - the Certificate of Withholding (BIR Form 2316) filed by their employer, duly stamped "Received" by the Bureau, shall be tantamount to the filing of the income tax return.

Furthermore, you they may directly request BIR Form 2316 for this year from their employer as they are the main source of this document and it is also mandated by law that every employer shall issue BIR Form No. 2316 to every employee before the close of such calendar year, or if employment is terminated, on the day on which the last payment of compensation is made.
