Hi BIR Team,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request copies of my Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the financial years 2017, 2018, and 2019, which I need for my skill assessment application. I tried reaching out to my previous Employer to request copies, but I was unsuccessful in getting a response from them. I am hoping to hear from you soon.

Dear Mr. Gardon:

I refer to my letter of Dec 11, 2023 01:11:51 AM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for Requesting a copy of  Income Tax Return (ITR).

In reply, we would like to inquire some details, to wit:

1.  What Income Tax Return are you referring to?
2. Did you have a registered business the mentioned Calendar Year (s) 2017 to 2019?
3. Or are you an Employee (Earning Purely Compensation Income) from the aforementioned Calendar Year (s)?
4. If employed, What is the Name of your Employers during the Calendar Year (s)?
5. Employers Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)?

Thank you for your request dated December 11, 2023 at 1:11:00 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request:

You requested for a copy of your BIR Form 2316 for the year 2017, 2018 and 2019

Response to your request:

Based on the reason stated below, we resolve to deny your request as to the following information:   Copy of your ITR for the year 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Calendar Year 2017 and 2019
This Office does not have the information you have requested (ITR) since your employer failed to include your BIR Form 2316 in the CD submitted for the year 2017 and 2019.  

Calendar Year 2018
We regret to inform you that your request cannot be processed because the submitted CD of scanned copies of Certificate of Compensation Payment/Tax Withheld (BIR Form 2316) by your employer for the year 2018 is defective and unreadable.

For your guidance, please refer to the Revised People's Freedom of Information Manual for the Bureau of Internal Revenue, which is available for download at the Bureau's Official Website or www.bir.gov.ph.
