Good day! I would like to request for an Income tax return because I need to get my tax exemption certificate for my scholarship application and ITR is one of the requirements for tax exemption certificate. Thank you.

Dear Ms. Estrellado,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Oct 14, 2021 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request
You asked for Certificate of Tax Exemption for scholarship.

Response to your request
We were able to determine that your request cannot be counted as a valid FOI request as this is part of the frontline service of the BIR, hence your request is denied.

Please be informed that ITR for 2021 is yet to be filed on or before April 15 next year, thus, we don't have a copy of the said document. . However, you may wish to request a copy of  form 2316 from your previous employer as it is mandated by law that every employer shall issue BIR Form No. 2316 to every employee before the close of such calendar year, or if employment is terminated, on the day on which the last payment of compensation is made.
