Dear John Alexander Arthur,

Greetings!

This refers to your queries as follows:
1. Is a retirement committee necessary in the plan rules?
2. Are there guidelines in filling out section 10 of BIR form 17.60?

In reply, please be informed that as regards question no. 1, the existing Regulations. particularly Revenue Regulations (RR) No. 1-68, as amended by RR No. 1-83, does not require a Retirement Committee to be set up for the administration of a retirement fund.  It is required, however, that the retirement fund be administered by a trust.  With respect to question no. 2, the information being required for item No. 10 of BIR Form 17.60 is solely within the knowledge of the employer which set up the retirement fund and appointed its administrator.
