Hi! I would like to ask for information on BIR Tax Guidelines on companies involved in CSR programs (ie. deductions, BIR CSR programs for companies, etc.)

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Aug 11, 2022 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for BIR Tax Guidelines for Companies involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Response to your request

In reply, we resolve to deny your request for the following reason/s:

1. No Purpose/Lack of Purpose Specificity- General avernment of the purpose such as "for information", "for research", "for legal purpose", or other similarly worded purposes shall not be considered to have met the requirements of specificity; and
2. Tax Guidelines for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) involve a broad scope of approaches and initiatives from companies (where they do business). This companies may have applied for a Tax Exemption Certificate for such kind of undertaking, however, please be informed there are confidential matters/information falling under the exceptions to the Freedom of Information are prohibited to be released.
