Hi!

I would like to request for a copy of my ITR from my previous employer for April 2015 to December 2016. My previous employer has already stopped operating and I could not request a copy from them anymore.

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Aug 14, 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Income Tax Return and/or BIR Form 2316.

Response to your request

In reply, please be informed that your request for a copy/copies of your BIR Form No. 2316 for the Calendar Year 2015 to 2016 cannot be granted/provided by the Revenue District Office (RDO) because the records of the RDO on those periods are already unavailable since we follow strictly the four (4) year retention period based on existing revenue issuances of the BIR (Revenue Memorandum Circular 73-2008).

Hence, all taxpayers (including your previous employer/s) are required to preserve their accounting records for the period of 10 years in accordance with the Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 29-2019.
