Dear Ms. Jacalne:

I refer to my letter of Oct 13, 2022 02:09:54 PM about your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch, for Income Tax Return (ITR) of your parents.

We called your mobile number today to validate your existing FOI request but it was unsuccessful. 

We would like to know whether your father has a registered business? or a Mixed Income Earner (MIE)/Self-Employed Individual; or an Employee during the taxable year per your request? 

As MIE/Self-Employed Individual, it means that your father have other source/s of income other than employment and he is required to file his individual ITR using BIR Form 1701/BIR Form 1701A.

However, if your father is employed and the source of income is purely compensation from his employer - one (1) employer within the taxable year, he is covered under substituted filing and filing of ITR is not required. Thus, BIR Form 2316 will sufficed and could be used as an evidence of his Compensation during those period for Doe Specs Application.

Hence, we advise that your father should coordinate with his concerned employer for a copy of BIR Form 2316.
