Hi! I would like to request a copy of my Income Tax Return Year 2002. I will be using it as a proof of my tax identification id in my local employment because I lost my tax identification id.

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 09, 2022 12:47:18 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Income Tax Return.

Response to Request

In connection with your request through eFOI Portal pertaining to the request for a copy of BIR Form 2316 as a Substitute Income Tax Return for Taxable Year 2002, Please be informed that per record/files of the district office/s for the aforementioned year were already sent to archive for storage as it was more than five (5) years of safekeeping per Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 73-2008, Retention Period of Withholding Tax Certificates. It will be practical and appropriate for you to refer to your employer/s and ask for the said copies where it actually originated.

You may however, secure a TIN Verification Slip from Revenue District Offices (RDOs) to determine whether or not you have been issued a TIN Number (this was relayed as one of your concern/request during our phone conversation this afternoon September 9, 2022). Please bring two (2) valid government-issued I.D.s containing the photograph and signature as proof of your identity for validation purpose.

You may visit BIR Regional Office Building, Tuazon Building, Solana cor. Beaterio Street Intramuros, Manila (near your residence address).
