Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Apr 04, 2023 03:50:30 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for List of Importers and Exporters with contact details.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, this Office was unable to provide your request due to the fact that it is covered by Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as far as the disclosure of personal information is concerned. The data to be protected comes from natural persons—importers and exporters accredited by the Bureau—not juridical persons such as corporations.

Further, the request refers to disclosures of importation data that are considered confidential business information as stated under Republic Act No. 10667, otherwise known as the "Philippine Competition Act (PCA)," that confidential business information refers to information which concerns or relates to the operations, production, sales, shipments, purchases, transfers, identification of customers, inventories, or amount or source of any income, profits, losses, or expenditures of business entities.

It is incumbent for the Bureau to protect the privacy of individuals and companies in official dealings and to prevent misuse of official information for personal or official gain. However, you may wish to contact Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph.. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
