January 17, 2024 Dear Razol Abe, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Apr 04, 2023 03:50:30 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You asked for List of Importers and Exporters with contact details. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, this Office was unable to provide your request due to the fact that it is covered by Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as far as the disclosure of personal information is concerned. The data to be protected comes from natural persons—importers and exporters accredited by the Bureau—not juridical persons such as corporations. Further, the request refers to disclosures of importation data that are considered confidential business information as stated under Republic Act No. 10667, otherwise known as the "Philippine Competition Act (PCA)," that confidential business information refers to information which concerns or relates to the operations, production, sales, shipments, purchases, transfers, identification of customers, inventories, or amount or source of any income, profits, losses, or expenditures of business entities. It is incumbent for the Bureau to protect the privacy of individuals and companies in official dealings and to prevent misuse of official information for personal or official gain.
