Dear Harold Ashley Medrano,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 15, 2023 12:16:15 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for demand and supply of materials in the philippines.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office was unable to provide you with the request. The concerned office, which is AOCG, emailed you last September 27, 2023 to the email address provided. The response stated that it would appear that the scope of the request is quite comprehensive that the release of the information may reveal the overall outlook of the importation and exportation of specific chemicals and compounds in the Philippines as compared with other countries. While the request may look innocuous, the release of the data may reveal the needs of the Philippines of these chemicals, or the market contribution of the country to the world market. This may result in either siphoning away our demand or denigrating our traditional foreign market.

In the mean time, there is need to further request for additional information such as the relevance of the requested data with the thesis objective. However, you may wish to contact Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio at boc.cares@customs.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,
