Good Day! I would like to acquire information about:
1. The proposed programs to be done in the Bamboo Industry Research and Development Center (BIRDC);
2. Possible users and stakeholders of the Center;
3. Proposed / Prospective  site for the construction of the Center;
4. Facilities and amenities to include in the Center;
5. Organizational map of the BIRDC and PBIDC;
6. Rough estimate of the budget to be allocated in this proposed development;
7. Studies (ex. Feasibility studies) and related data about the proposed Center, Bamboo and Bamboo Industry.

Dear Mr. Bendaña, 
 
This is in response to your inquiry dated 04 August 2018, concerning the Philippine bamboo industry. We wish to relay that Senate Bill No. 1478 entitled “An Act Institutionalizing the Bamboo Industry Development in the Philippines, Creating the Bamboo Industry Research and Development Center (BIRDC), Appropriating Funds Therefore, and For Other Purposes” is still pending second reading at the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship since 31 May 2017. The details of the Center including the programs, budget, proposed site, facilities and amenities, organizational map, and studies shall be discussed thoroughly during the preparation of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) once the bill is passed into a law.  
 
Currently, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 3 in taking the lead for the development of the bamboo industry and its cluster. Should you have further questions on the development of the bamboo industry, you may address your concern/s to:
