Good day!

I would like to inquire about the requirements needed for the plant identification/authentication of a tree for our Undergraduate Research. Our species is Bayag-usa (Voacanga globosa). Would it also be possible to request an identification/authentication online for a tree species?

Your Request

You asked for Plant ID Authentication.

Response to Request

The Crop Research and Production Support Division of the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) issues certificates on the identification, authentication, and verification of food agricultural crops based on available data/ resources – FREE OF CHARGE, via online or onsite. 

Documents required (Onsite): 
1.Request letter addressed to the BPI Director, Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, PhD indicating the purpose of identification and certification (Original + 1 copy) 
(FOR STUDENTS - IN SCHOOL’S LETTERHEAD, SIGNED BY THE STUDENT AND ADVISER) 

2. Clear, colored printed photo of plant/specimen in a coupon bond (2 COPIES) 

3. Actual Plant/Specimen (complete parts of the plant as possible) 

4. Duly filled out Application form. (Available at the CRPSD Office)

Our office is open M-F/ 8AM-5PM (except holidays). Processing usually takes 3-5 working days. CRPSD may send the Certificate of Identification to the requesting party.
