Good day! I would like to request information about cooperatives in the Philippines & data on how much they contribute to employment generation.

Specifically, I respectfully request for the following:
1. Total No. of cooperatives in the Philippines, their distribution per region, & breakdown according to classification (micro, small, medium cooperatives)
2. Their corresponding contribution to total employment per region

I humbly ask for data from 2008 to 2017 consistent with the list of establishment census of PSA. (See attached file)

Your Request

You asked for Records/Statistics of Registered Micro, Small and Medium Cooperatives in the Philippines.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of the information you requested. In addition, the Agency:

1) Uses Asset Size in classifying cooperatives;
2) Do not use the PSIC. However, we have initial meetings with PSA last year on how we synchronize/adopt the PSIC. Hopefully this year we can see it to fruition; and
3) Can only provide the data from 2015-2017 and only in this manner (please see attached excel file).
