MS. CAREN ATIENZA

Dear Ms. Atienza:

Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)!

With reference to your eFOI request for the number and age brackets of former Filipino citizens, we regret to inform you that we are unable to provide the information requested since data on emigrants who lost their Filipino citizenship upon naturalization in other countries are not collected by the CFO.

However, in the event that they decide to reacquire Filipino citizenship as dual citizens, they have to go through the Philippine’s Bureau of Immigration (BI) to process their request. The BI therefore may be the appropriate authority to provide you with the information that you need. The BI’s main office may be reached via their hotline at 465-2400, or for a more detailed directory you may visit this page in their website: http://www.immigration.gov.ph/contact-us/main-office

For questions or clarifications, you may contact Mr. Elfred del Rosario of the Policy, Planning and Research Division at telephone number 552-4763 or email at dr.elfred@gmail.com.

Thank you and best regards.

Sincerely,

MARIA REGINA ANGELA G. GALIAS
Interim Officer-in-Charge
