Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)!

This refers to your request dated 04 November 2019 regarding the number of Filipino medical professional emigrants (prior to migration) by place of origin.

As the CFO’s primary clientele are the emigrants who will permanently live in other countries, we are pleased to provide you the number of Filipino emigrants Health Professionals who registered in CFO  from 2000 to 2018.  These numbers include annual statistics on Filipinos who underwent the CFO’s mandatory Pre-departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for emigrants.

However, temporary migrants, or overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), are not required to register with the CFO before their departure from the Philippines. They are instead required to register with and obtain their Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
