Current number of OFWs in the Province of Bohol

Requested from CFO by Syra Monica Damalerio at 10:19 AM on Oct 03, 2019.
Purpose: Maker study on potential OFW markets for real estate investments
Date of Coverage: 01/01/2000 - 10/03/2019
Tracking no: #CFO-946179421673

Laguna 10:19 AM, Oct 03, 2019

I am conducting a study on potential Overseas Filipino Worker markets for real estate investments. As what we have partially discovered, the segment that is highly appealed by our products are Overseas Filipino Workers. We wish to obtain data on the current number of OFWs in our province, Bohol, so we can know the scope of our market opportunity. Many OFWs who are from here or have family here would like to invest or simply acquire property for their future and we would like to assist them with that.

MS. SYRA DAMALERIO

Dear Ms. Damalerio,

Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)!

This refers to your request dated 30 October 2019 regarding the number of Overseas Filipinos from the Province of Bohol.

As the CFO’s primary clientele are the emigrants who will permanently live in other countries, we are pleased to provide you the number of CFO-registered Filipino emigrants from 1988 to 2018, who originated from the Province of Bohol. These numbers include annual statistics on Filipinos who underwent the CFO’s mandatory Pre-departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for immigrant visa holders, Peer Counseling for minors and the Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) for spouses or partners of foreign nationals prior to their departure.

However, temporary migrants, or overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), are not required to register with the CFO before their departure from the Philippines. They are instead required to register with and obtain their Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). The link below that contains information about OFWs and other professions by skill and by country might help you:
http://poea.gov.ph/ofwstat/ofwstat.html

For questions or clarifications, you may contact the CFO’s Policy, Planning and Research Division at 552-4761 or through email at gracielpaguinto@gmail.com.

To further improve our services, may we also kindly request for your feedback through this link: https://goo.gl/forms/FeSqdqLNMoNkInCo2 (Policy, Planning and Research Division Client Satisfaction Form). The form is brief and will only take a minute to complete. Thank you very much in advance for your response.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

MARIA REGINA ANGELA G. GALIAS
