Hi! I am presently conducting a research entitled “Labor Migration Pattern of Overseas Filipino Workers in Region VI”
I would like to request for the available data regarding:
1.  The number of contracted Overseas Filipino Workers in Region VI based on their age, sex, civil status, educational attainment, profession and country of  destination from year 2008 to 2015.
2.  The number of  contracted Overseas Filipino Workers in Region VI based on their length of contract and reasons for termination of contract  from year 2008 to 2015.

Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)!

This refers to your request dated 25 October 2019 regarding the number of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Western Visayas (Region VI).

We regret, however, that we are unable to provide the information requested since migrant workers or OFWs are not required to register with the CFO before their departure from the Philippines.

The CFO’s primary clientele are the emigrants who will permanently live in other countries.  On the other hand, OFWs or temporary migrants, are required to register with and obtain their Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
