Hello,

In order to research my dissertation on employment and migration behaviours in the Philippines, I would like to request the raw, individually-collected microdata that forms the basis for the statistical profiles on this page (https://cfo.gov.ph/statistics-2/) for as many years as possible between 2002 and 2022. In particular, I would like to request these variables:

Major Country of Destination
Age Group
Educational Attainment Prior to Migration
Sex
Civil Status
Occupation Prior to Migration
Country of Destination
Place of Origin in the Philippines

Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)!

Thank you for your eFOI request regarding the data on registered Filipino emigrants..
 
As the CFO’s primary clientele are the emigrants who will permanently reside in other countries, we are pleased to provide you in the webpage link below the statistics of CFO-registered emigrants as of year 2019. These numbers include annual statistics on Filipinos who underwent the CFO’s mandatory Pre-departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for emigrants or Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) for spouses or partners of foreign nationals prior to their departure.

We regret to inform you that the CFO can only provide an aggregate of its collected data from emigrants in the link above, as stated in the CFO's Freedom of Information Manual on the list of accessible information. The requested microdata serving as the basis for these profiles, even if anonymized, contain individual personal information that we cannot disclose.

However, we can provide you instead other specific statistical profiles that you may find useful for your research/dissertation (if not yet included in the link above). You may file it through another request in the eFOI portal with the specific variables that you wish for us to generate. 

Please note also that because of the limited workforce and resources brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, and in addition to the adjustments to the delivery of CFO’s frontline services, emigrant registration data for 2020-2021 is still currently undergoing the process of verification as part of CFO’s data quality management procedures.
