We, at The Filipino Times, https://filipinotimes.net/ would like to approach your good office to request a few statistics for a future edition of our weekly newspaper. It will center around the numbers of Overseas Filipino Workers here in the UAE as follows:

- Number of Filipinos working per Emirate
- Number of Filipinos working in the UAE, separated by gender
- Number of Filipinos working in the UAE, separated by occupation
- Number of Filipinos working in the UAE,  separated by age

Greetings from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas!

Thank you for your eFOI request regarding statistics on the number of OFWs in the United Arab Emirates.

As the CFO’s primary clientele are the emigrants who will permanently live in other countries, we are pleased to provide you with statistics of CFO-registered emigrants in the UAE by Emirate, by sex, by profession prior to departure, and by age group from 2005 - 2016. These numbers include annual statistics on Filipinos who underwent the CFO’s mandatory Pre-departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) for emigrants, or Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) for spouses or partners of foreign nationals prior to their departure.

On the other hand, temporary migrants or overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are not required to register with the CFO before their departure from the Philippines. They are instead required to register with and obtain their Overseas Employment Certificates (OECs) from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). The link below that contains information about OFWs and other professions by skill and by country might help you:

The POEA’s Planning Branch, which is in charge of updating POEA’s annual deployment statistics, has the proper authority to provide you with the information that you need regarding OFWs. Please refer to the attached directory for your easy reference.
