Dear Lucrecia Lubiano,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Nov 18, 2023, 02:22:09 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for a Budget outlay for the years 2022 and 2023 of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

The PIA is the official public information arm of the Government of the Republic of the Philippines which works with the Office of the President, national government agencies, and other public sector entities in communicating their programs, projects, and services to the Filipino people.

I enclose a copy of all of the information you requested.

It is worth noting that under the FY 2023 General Appropriations Act, the budget of both the PIA and the Bureau of Communications Services were placed under the direct supervision of the Office of the President and, thus, were lodged in Other Executive Offices, pursuant to Executive Order No. 2, s. 2022. The data can also be accessed through the DBM website.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Budget Management Bureau C
FOI Receiving Officer
