Hi. I would like to inquire if there is a latest revision on the Local Budget Circular No. 61, of March 18, 1996, Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and Salary Grades (IOS) in the Local Government.
Is it possible that position for Supervising Officer (Budget Officer IV - SG 22) be allowed and created in the Local Government Unit (1st Class Municipality)?

Dear Ms. Trinidad,

This refers to your inquiry on whether the  Index of Occupational Services, Position Titles and Salary Grades (IOS) in Local Government  issued through Local Budget Circular (LBC) No. 61 has already been revised. 

In addition, clarification is sought whether the position of Supervising Officer (Budget Officer IV) may be allowed and created in a First Class Municipality.

We are currently in the midst of updating the IOS for the national government.  While said IOS partly contains classes or position titles unique to local government units (LGUS), a separate updated IOS shall be issued for LGUs in view of the peculiar nature of the local compensation and position classification plans.  We shall keep you abreast of the developments in this regard.

With regard to your other concern, we suggest that you direct your query to the DBM Regional Office No. III, Regional Office Center,  Maimpis, San Fernando City.   The DBM RO III is in the best position to address your second concern.
