Dear DBM,

I would like to clarify the guidelines of DBM Circular No. 2018-1 regarding uniform allowance for government employees. I was reinstated back to my permanent position on May 11, 2020 and even though I have rendered more than 6 months of service in 2020, I still have not received my uniform allowance. Am I still entitled to receive my uniform allowance for the said year?

Also, is it possible to receive pro-rated  rate of the uniform allowance if I am not able to render service for at least 6 months in 2021 due to resignation from the position?

Dear Christine Mae Sarito,

This refers to your request for clarification with  regard to your entitlement to the uniform/clothing allowance for FY 2020.

The rules and regulations on the grant of said benefit is prescribed under Budget Circular No 2018-1. A copy of the Circular may be accessed from the DBM website www.dbm.gov.ph

Section 8.0 defines the government service requirement for entitlement to said benefit.
