Hi,

I would like to request clarification on the maximum allowed per night accommodation if the hotel is DOT-accredited under section 8 of EO 77. Does the same maximum DTE applies?

Dear Irene Melican,

As regards your query, the maximum Daily Travel Expenses (DTE) that a government personnel may incur for local official travel, including lodging costs, are prescribed under Section 5 (b) of Executive Order (EO) No. 77.

Corollary, Section 8 of  EO No. 77 simply states that government personnel are encouraged to patronize DOT-accredited accommodations  to ensure availment of adequate but reasonably-priced services and amenities.  The rates prescribed under Section 5 (b) of EO No. 77 remains to be the threshold for all official local travel, even for those availing of DOT -accredited  accommodations.
