Your Request
You asked for the status of the request for monetization of leave credits (MLC) of the Division of Dumaguete City.
Response to Request
Please be informed that the request was forwarded by the Division of Dumaguete City to DepEd-Regional Office VII and was received by the DepEd ROVII on April 21, 2020. However, the request was not yet forwarded to DBM Regional Office VII to date. We have communicated with DepEd Regional Office VII regarding the matter. Rest assured that we will evaluate and process the request as soon as we receive the necessary documents.
Moreover, per Budget Execution Advisory No. 1 dated January 16, 2020, funding requirements for Terminal Leave/Retirement Gratuity (TLRG) chargeable against the FY 2020 Pension and Gratuity Fund (PGF) shall be considered as first priority, approval for the payment of MLC to be charged against the FY 2020 PGF, should be rationalized and limited to payment for critical health, medical and hospital needs of government employees and immediate members of the families. Requests for payment of MLCs for reasons other than those cited shall be charged against any available allotment for personnel services of the agency instead of tapping the PGF. As such, only monetization with reasons of critical conditions will be processed by DBM ROVII.
Likewise, as agreed per DBM-DepEd Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1, s. 2020 dated February 18, 2020 re: Guidelines and Timelines on the Submission of Budgetary Requests to DBM, receipt of 1st batch of monetization requests was scheduled on February 18, 2020 to March 31, 2020 and 2nd batch shall be on September 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020.
