Dear Mr. Landicho,

This refers to your request for information on the current salary of the Mayor, Vice-Mayor and Councilors of Tupi, South Cotabato.

The Salary Grade (SG) allocation of elective officials of municipalities outside of Metropolitan Manila are as follows:

-	Municipal Mayor I, SG-27
-	Municipal Vice-Mayor I, SG025
-	Sangguniang Bayan Member I, SG-24

Corollary, as self-reliant and self-sufficient entities, the capability of local government units (LGUs) to pay their obligations and operating requirements, including salaries and wages, is limited by their available funds and income. It is equally worth noting that a cap on personnel services (PS) is observed by LGUs pursuant to the Local Government Code.

Relatedly, Local Budget Circular No. 118 dated January 15, 2019 provides the implementing guidelines, rules and regulations for the implementation of the 4th Tranche compensation adjustment of personnel of LGUs. A copy of the Circular may be accessed from our website www.dbm.gov.ph.

Thank you.

Respectfully yours,

Maria Lourdes T. Aganon
FOI Officer
