Dear Ms. Angobung,

This refers to your request for information on the computation of the salary/honoraria for barangay officials and what is the basis of their salary.

For a better understanding of the position classification and compensation of barangay officials and personnel, you may wish to peruse Local Budget Circular No. 63 dated October 22, 1996.  A copy of said Circular may be accessed from our website www.dbm.gov.phb .

Corollary, the salary rates of positions in local government units, including barangays,  shall be based on their income classification as determined by the Department of Finance, and their financial capabilities.
