Amendment of Passport - Discrepancy in First Name

Requested from DFA by M. Saito at 08:26 PM on Jul 29, 2022.
Purpose: Transparency in PASSPORT SCHEDULE OF FEES / Proper classification of category
Date of Coverage: 07/28/2022 - 07/29/2022
Tracking no: #DFA-518528321251

Saito 08:26 PM, Jul 29, 2022

Country: Japan (Tokyo)
I just applied for passport correction due to wrong entry in my FIRST NAME. I looked at the service fees in Phil. Embassy Tokyo website and thought that I would only pay: e-Passport ¥8400 + Amendment ¥3500 + AffidAvit ¥3500 = ¥15400. To my surprise they charge ¥28000 total & the receipt particular is “Replacement of lost ePassport”. I complained about it but they insisted that Amendment of Discrepancy is ¥21000 (vs. ¥8400). Info on SPECIAL CASE do not contain a specific price for this category.
