Validity of Minor’s Passport with Thumbprint as Signature

Requested from DFA by I. Go at 12:02 PM on May 16, 2023.
Purpose: Inquiry
Date of Coverage: 05/16/2023 - 05/16/2023
Tracking no: #DFA-519188244029

Hi!

I recently received the passport of my minor 2nd child and it came with a small note that said “For minors 12 years old and below, leave [the signature on the third page] blank”.

I would like to raise a question because previously, when I received the passport of my minor 1st child, it did not come with a small note of instructions. The passport only stated on the signature page: “Holder’s signature (Not valid unless signed)”. Since he had no capacity to sign, and following the direction on the passport, I had him put his thumbmark on it.

Will the thumbmark invalidate the passport?
